What is content debt?

Does content quality really affect AI recommendations?
Yes. Every buyer uses AI to summarise and synthesize knowledge on a bespoke basis. Which means that your content needs to contribute net new knowledge – “information gain” – in order to add value to Humans and be surfaced by LLMs.
What is information gain?
It measures whether your content adds new knowledge or restates what’s already available elsewhere. LLMs weight original thinking more heavily when forming their understanding of a category, and human readers engage more with content that gives them something they can’t get anywhere else.
Do we need to restructure all our content?
No. Demand-Genius pulls content directly from your sitemap meaning no integration is required, and we can operate on 99% of sites without any rewiring. From a broader AEO perspective, we have yet to see conclusive evidence that any (e.g. knowledge graphs) meaningfully influence AI visibility, provided content is clear and accessible.
